Welcome to Cumbria Crossroads
FUTURE DIRECTION OF CUMBRIA CROSSROADS
The Trustees of Cumbria Crossroads have given much consideration to the future direction and opportunities for Cumbria Crossroads.
Several developments have affected us, including our own financial position and the new contracts for home care being introduced by the County Council from 2016. It will become much harder for a niche provider such as Cumbria Crossroads to retain our existing home care business.
We have looked at ways of dealing with this. Trustees have reluctantly decided that Cumbria Crossroads cannot continue in its current form and have approached a sister organisation to take over responsibility for both our clients and staff.
We are pleased to report that, following discussions with All Seasons Homecare, we are proposing to transfer the majority of Crossroads clients and their associated staff to All Seasons.
In this way, we are doing our best to ensure that our clients continue to receive the quality respite care they have come to expect from Cumbria Crossroads and to safeguard the interests of our valued staff as far as possible.
Under the proposals, Cumbria Crossroads would cease to exist following an orderly closure. There is no other option as day to day losses have been incurred by Cumbria Crossroads for some time. Although we have offset these losses to some extent by a series of donations and grants, and by making significant staffing savings recently, we cannot afford to continue like this.
The proposed transfer to All Seasons offers new hope for clients and staff. Although arrangements are not yet finalised, we wanted to let you know the position as soon as possible. You can be assured that the high quality of respite care services will continue, despite the sad decision to close down Cumbria Crossroads after so many years. We shall present a more detailed timetable soon.
